NASCAR at Bristol: Odds, prediction, sleepers, drivers to watch for Food City 500

NASCAR is taking a little break and this weekend’s event heads to the half-mile venue at Bristol Motor Speedway.

While the racing will soon be shifting up somewhat at the moment, the storylines remain virtually the same: Kyle Busch has had one of the best cars weekly, Kevin Harvick is still searching for his first win and Brad Keselowski and Denny Hamlin will probably be lurking for their third successes. The past is the past and Busch has all the background together with seven career wins at the track with 10 leading 5s and 15 top 10s to his title there, as well. He won last season’s race in the spring and will look for his third win it should be noted he has wrecked in Bristol in three of his last eight races, so there’s some risk here.

Harvick has been the very best in terms of consistency in memory, although keselowski and Hamlin do have the same track record since Busch in the monitor. He has just two wins there and has not finished outside the top 10.

History says he should factor to the triumph, but he only has had the car this season to win and that cannot be overlooked. So until Harvick demonstrates he can find a win it’s really hard to predict it being made by him to victory lane.

We’re going with Busch again because he has the car, loves Bristol and has factored into the final laps at every race he’s been in this season from the Cup Series on to the Trucks.
